I have a DODSON that is giving me terrible headaches. My ggrandmother, Elizabeth Jane (DODSON) PATTERSON was born Jan.10, 1867. Her mother, Becky BISHOP married 3 times, first to a Yarbrough(he died in Civil War) then to Dodson, and next to a CARROUTHERS. I have Elizabeth's death certificate and it states that her father, Mr. Dodson, was born in Alabama, but death certificates are not the most reliable because whoever gave the information might not really know. Elizabeth lived and was born in Craighead County, Arkansas. Anyone?????? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Becky

Hi Dodson Folk! I'm looking for Thomas DODSON and his wife Catherine E. GOAD. They had a daughter named Julia Ann DODSON, born 20 August 1847 somewhere in Kentucky, possibly in the Graves County region. Julia DODSON married John Riley HOLIFIELD and I have all kinds of information about his line. Let me know if this rings any bells or if you have any contacts or suggestions. Dennis, Erin's credit card came through the other day. Her AMTRAK tickets came to $89. Please give me a call 207 223-5103 about her transportation situation. She has a girlfriend here in Maine whose father is in the second hand car business which means we could probably get a vehicle at auction cost (read "cheap") to get her through till she graduates. She's looking onto it. Her having a car would cut down on the AMTRAK and Greyhous bus ticket costs since she'd be responsible for gas, etc. She says she's trying to save $ to pay for part of the cost. Please call, Let's atleast discuss. Thanks, Gerie
I just received this from Janet Ricke who publishes the Hightower Quest Newsletter. She lists the following: 1713 Will of William Goodridge, "WILLS OF RICHMOND CO., VA 1699-1800" Gen. Pub. Co., Baltimore, MD, p. 26, from Will Book Page 148 - William Goodridge, NFP, will; written 12 May 1713, proved 2 Sep 1713, named Thomasin wife of William; to son William all land in Lanc. Co., which I bought of Richard Alderson and John (Buxton); other chil. Moses and Elizabeth; desires Mr. Rawleigh Chinn to have the care of the three chil. until age 21; ex: fr. Rawleigh Chinn; wits: none given, but prov. by the oaths of Dorothy and Thomas Durham. (Sr.)" (Dorothy was the sister of Thomasin, wife of, William Goodridge, and was sister of Alice, wife of John Chinn). 1725 Will of Anne Chinn Fox Chichester: Anne referred to Aunt Dorothea in her will. This certainly confirms that Dorothy, Alice, and Thomasin were sisters. Does anybody have information on the Goodridge's? What happened to Thom asin's first husband and when? Can someone find a will for Thomasin Goodridge? Steve Smoot
Dear "List", Bernice posted this to the VA-WVA List. I thought perhaps someone here could help her. She is not subscribed, so please contact her personally. Thank you. Dear Marshall and Betty, It was good to hear from you and thanks for the clues. I will study the Ege book again. I don't know if this is the Abigail you ere interested in but Ege report that she was an Indian captive who after her rescue was placed in the care of the Moravians for her education whereby she became identified with them. The "great girl" Elizabeth Rhodes Dodson was ;living in 1867at the age of 84 by the name of Betsy Van Horn, widow of Isaac , in Huntington township, Luzerne County Pa. I don't know if this is helpful, I will keep looking in Ege but info is not in the Index about the Marshall you want . I loved the poem. There is a wonderful sketch of Richard and Susannah Rhodes Dodson Line that leads to the Marshalls I think. It mentions a lot of folks including John Rhodes of Derbyshire England who came with William Penn to PA. in 1682, It goes on about the Revolutionary war and Indian trades etc. I'll keep in touch. Warmly, John
Hi Steve and All, No, I haven't yet gotton any replies to my question: << Subject: RE: Richard & Thomas Hunt (Digest V98 #13) >> Karen
Karen, Did you get a reply back on this? I'd like to know/ Steve
Karen, This information was given to me by James Owens who researched it in the early 1970's. He did not state his proof as to this, I only use this information until I can find physical confirmation to it. I have also found in the LDS Ancestrial Files (though proven at times unreliable) the same info from a different source. I'm sure someone will come up with the same info too. Kim
