Perhaps the speculation for James Neaville being born c1793 Patrick Co, VA was because that is where Mariam Dodson's parents married. I have not seen evidence that James was born in VA. The 1850 census Hendricks Co IN said KY & 1860 said TN. From the few sources I have, it seems more likely that Thomas Dodson, son of James & Mariam (Dodson) Neville was the man that married Elizabeth Ann Tinder 3 March 1841 Hendricks Co, IN. The 1831 Wayne Co, KY marriage to Elizabeth Spicklemire only says Dodson Nevill. I can't place him. You might see what records the GenWeb compiler was using. Was there something that proved Thomas as a first name? What was his parentage being based on? Were any children given for the Spickelmire marriage? New info has offered us some help with our Dodson line, The 1900 census lists Ben F. Dodson married to Conilla (we have her as Dilla, could be a shortened form) in Randolph County, Strawberry township. He was born 1849 in Illinois as were his parents, we do know he lived for a time in Popular Bluffs, Mo. I am assuming Conilla was his first wife, he did marry a second time. Living next door is Walter Harkness and wife Rhoda, she is the daughter of Ben. Any Illinois or Arkansas Dodson that can make a connection? Thanks Judy

ELaine: I have Dodson's living in Gasconade County in 1840's... Franklin, Eliza Matilda and Rebecca Jane. Rebecca married first a John T. Branson and second my GGGrandfather, John Reed.
