I've ordered the Ancestry DNA kit, but have not yet taken it. I can tell you that based on what I've found so far, most Dodsons from Bedford and Blair Counties are related in one way or another. Some of the maiden names in my line are Trueman, Closson and Conrad. I think my 3rd Great Grandmother was a Smoot, but am still looking into that generation. Hope this helps.
