Joel Obidiah Dodson was my gg grandfather born about 1860 in Bone County Ark, he married Treasy Mack do Henry Mack and Martha Sweeney, she was born in Joel was the son of Andrew J Dodson and Elizabeth Bradshaw?? I have a lot of info on this part of my family but I have some gaps and questions that I hope someone can help me with. I can fallow Joel through the census records with a gap in 1880 except for a marriage record and then another gap in 1920 and then he shows up again as a boarder with an unrelated family in Texas in the 1930 census. The only burial info I have found is from 1932 where a Joe Dodson is buried in an unmarked grave in Cook Co Texas. As for his wife most researchers have her death placed in 1908 for reasons I cant determine. She is on the 1910 census with Joel living in Muldrow but no records can be found after that and if she is buried around Muldrow Ok I sure cant find it or determine a date of death. Joel's father Andrew is a bit of an issue as well. I have found his wife's grave at Blackjack Cem north of Muldrow Ok but I cant find his place of burial or a date of death. His last record was at the Veteran's home in Ft Leavenworth in 1920 but he did not die there. I also have questions as to weather Presley Dodson is this Andrew J Dodson's father most if not all of the pieces fit but it still s feels a little iffy. It doesn't look like this family has been to heavily researched but maybe some of you have some pieces of the puzzle I lack.

NEW STRAITSVILLE [OH]: Ruth G. Downs, 84, of New Straitsville, passed away Tuesday December 13, 2011 at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born March 20, 1927 in Perry County the daughter of the late Emmet and Gertrude Dodson Gladden. She was a graduate of Corning High School, member of the New Straitsville United Methodist Church and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed watching golf. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Henning and Susan Bentley; grandchildren, Josh Dishon, Sara Dishon, Derek (Courtney "Cookie" Rittgers) Downs, Brittney (Jordan Doup) Downs, Taylor (Eric Condra) Bentley, Luke Bentley and Evan Bankes; two great-granddaughters, Jordyn Blackford and Raegan Hook. Besides her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Downs; and her son, Randy J. Downs. Friends may call anytime after 6 p.m. on Friday at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Carolyn Hoskinson officiating. Interment: New Straitsville Cemetery.
