Author: DHYoungjr Surnames: Dodson Nash Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dodson/2001/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello all - I'm looking for information anyone might have on Margaret Dodson (1824-?) and Thomas Nash (1822-1841). My 2nd great grandfather was Samuel Jasper Nash (1840-1926), their son. There are many other folks that have these individuals on their tree, but a great deal of conflicting information. Samuel's obituary does confirm his parentage, but indicates he was left an orphan at an early age. However, most people have his mother living until 1886, which conflicts. I'd like to extend the Dodson and Nash lines, but would prefer to resolve this mystery before adding a bunch of information I'd then have to remove. Any help would be appreciated! Just mentions "wife" "children" and children from previous marriage . I just assuming its the will of W.D. Willey. Who I believe is either the likely father or uncle of Susan Dotson. Joy, please pass this data along to any descendants of Jennie Fletcher. My late grandfather Lonnnie Gus Dotson b. 1920 Tenn. City,Dickson County remembers his family still had letters from the children of Jennie Dotson-Fletcher, when he was a kid. He knew that she had married a "Fletcher" and had moved to Texas. In McEwen along White Oak creek Ben and Jennie resided near the Hooper farm, where Montezuma & his wife Elvira Hooper (my G- Grandparents) and also near my other G-Grandparents, Andy Ethridge & his wife Mary Dotson(not sure of her relation to Mont Dotson. Andy and his family left Tenn. during the War going to Kentucky until it was over. Came back and bought land on White Oak creek for 75 cents an acre! Maybe Elvira's father Jim Hooper could have given him a deal or someting. The Hooper's were neighbors to John Dempsey Dotson and his family, when he was a young boy, then he moved to Dickson Co. I thought Susie's middle name was "Anne" its's actually "Emma" She was born in Dickson County abt. 1834 I located a Will for a "William Willey": sealed October 2nd, 1850 ...."bequeath to my children and the children which my wife had by her first husband..... and to share alike the children of James and [crossed out] Wright; and Sally Jean to represent their parents in this my Will. ...appoint Isaac Wright my step son and James W. Willey; because of the year that it was sent to probate court . Although their seems to be another "William Willey" in Dickson Co. husband to Nancy. But W.D.
