FTDNA knows that this L21+, M222+ forum means serious business. And so FTDNA should be aware that equally serious results are now expected. Doug
I've already said this once today and I don't like to generally drag things in the mud so that is not the intention, but.... I would generally ignore the 2014 haplotree that we see today. It is based on Geno 2 data and they cut off data collection last November. It's behind. Its likely that our working draft tree knowledge will always have lead time over large academic oriented studies. I'm not trying to negate the importance of the National Genographic Project. They looked at the results of 50,000 individuals and grew their haplotree over 5000 SNPs. What they do will get incorporated into their future initiatives and I definitely want my SNPs in the future offerings as they travel the world drumming DNA testing business. We need true academic oriented research project, but its just their wheels will turn more slowly that the hobbyists/leaders. That's just the way it is. Dear Mike, I know that you have taken on an incredible amount of work in building so many central files that are so useful to us. I¹m also sure that you are regularly updating your file: //localhost/Users/dhm1/Downloads/R1b-M222_Haplotypes.xlsm My problem is that I don¹t know how to access any version of the file dated after March 7. Can you please tell me if you have made later versions available and, if so, how I can access them? Also, in the March 7 version, I could not figure out how to open the 111 marker file. Can you please tell me how to do this? Thanks, David
FOR CRYING OUT LOUD -- I just checked the 'new haplotree recommendations' for 197231. This has been confirmed already as DF85+/DF97+ -- and with FTDNA. This fellow also did GENO2--tested by FTDNA. Yet get this: They recommend for this kit one of our topics today F3952 that it was already found negative fore when Geno2 was done. There are a couple of CTS SNPs found familiar in Chromo2 that have absolutely no bearing on M222. I was so disgusted that I didn't even cross reference the ones I was unfamiliar with the label they are using. Susan
