Could the Orcanus spoken of by Sir James Lamont perhaps have been O'Cainus, or Cain Comrac who died in 898 according to the Four Masters 902 according to the annals of Ulster 903 according to the Cronicum Scotorum? "Orcanus, Laird of Lamont, quha livet about the nyn hundredth zeir of oure Lord" Doesn't seem likely to me, but the name and dates are close.
