    1. Re: [R-M222] M222 Modal Markers
    2. I don't know if anyone would be interested in this or not. The M222 project is now huge - over 600 members - so there was no way I could manually count the marker values. Instead I used an Excel function which made it pretty easy. I think Sandy gave me this some time ago but I forgot and had to re-learn it from the help menus. The function is COUNTIF. =COUNTIF(BT1:BT78,"25" BT1:BT78 in this case is a range from the first entry in a column (such as DYS390) to the last cell in the same column. SInce most markers have a range of values you have to run it several times with different values ("25"). Just type the function into an empty cell in the spreadsheet. Some time ago someone on this list wrote a program that took FTDNA's new marker layout and converted it to the older more usable system for spreadsheets. He is no longer on the list but I don't think he'd mind if I shared the program with others. The program is called Gencalc.exe. To use it first save a DNA project from the internet as .html on your hard drive. It has to be .html, not .htm. That's the only format the program looks for. Load the .html file in the program, export as gencalcout.csv and then import into Excel or any other spreadsheet. The whole process takes only a few minutes. You can instantly capture entire large projects such as L21 in minutes. The goofy 11-13 bit is stripped out by the program. _http://clanmaclochlainn.com/R1b1c7/GenCalc.zip_ (http://clanmaclochlainn.com/R1b1c7/GenCalc.zip) This program has made my life considerably easier.
