Hi Lawrence, Go with the genetic evidence. Names are almost meaningless. For instance, my name is Morrison. Scottish, right? Nope! I now find myself listed quite genetically closely on the Doherty family project where in Donegal there once was an O'Muirgheasain family. The O'Muirgheasain family was so small that it is not listed anywhere at FTDNA, but it is known to have genetic and historical links to the Donegal Doherty family. Was I surprised to discover that?
