Hi all, Yeah, hacking attacks must be taken seriously, and such attacks can be sneaky. Yeah, we all enjoy the Internet, but it indeed does have its risks, so be aware. It's a possibility, Flatley and Loughney were both S660+ as well, so it could point to Uí Fhiachrach as S660+ in general. We really need someone with an Uí Bhriúin surname to test (Rourke, O'Connor, Concannon). If you got an Uí Bhriúin S660+ then things would get interesting. Brion and Fiachrae after all were supposedly Niall's half-brothers. -Paul (DF41+) On Fri, May 23, 2014 at 3:42 PM, Bernard Morgan <bernardmorgan@hotmail.com>wrote: > What the O'Shaughnessy result suggest that A259, A260 marks a branch of Ui > Fiachrach? > > > >From Irish Names and Surnames 1923 by Fr Woulfe > Ó SEACHNASAIGH—I—O'Shaughnessy, O'Shoughnessy, O'Shannessy, O'Shanesy, > Shaughnessy, Shannessy, &c.; 'descendant of Seachnasach'; the name of a > branch of the Ui Fiachrach Aidhne, in Co. Where would I find R1b-L21_SNP_Tree_Discovery comparison spreadsheet? I couldn't find in https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/R1b-L21-Project/files .
The same issues apply to all the ones that came in the other day. I'm not authorised to say any more; no one finds this more frustrating than I do. What the O'Shaughnessy result suggest that A259, A260 marks a branch of Ui Fiachrach? >From Irish Names and Surnames 1923 by Fr Woulfe Ó SEACHNASAIGH—I—O'Shaughnessy, O'Shoughnessy, O'Shannessy, O'Shanesy, Shaughnessy, Shannessy, &c.; 'descendant of Seachnasach'; the name of a branch of the Ui Fiachrach Aidhne, in Co. I see the Dunbar 205549 Big Y result have been uploaded to the L21 project. Do we know what his terminal SNP is?
Hi. Here are my FGC SNPs that are available to order on YSEQ. - Aidan. FGC449 FGC4103 FGC4104 FGC4106 FGC4107 FGC4108 FGC4109 FGC4110 FGC4111 FGC4112 FGC4113 FGC4114 FGC4115
Generally results are only uploaded to L21 group if they have given permission. It might however be worthwhile to get someone to email him directly, he mightn't be on this list for example. -Paul (DF41+) On Fri, May 23, 2014 at 1:32 PM, Iain Kennedy <ikennedy_msdn2@hotmail.com>wrote: > To be more direct, if Mr. O'Shaughnessy would like to make himself known > to me I can do more work on his data. > > Iain > > > > > > > From: ikennedy_msdn2@hotmail.com > > To: dna-r1b1c7@rootsweb.com > > Date: Fri, 23 May 2014 12:30:30 +0000 > > Subject: Re: [R-M222] O'Shaughnessy result > > > > I was told by David Wilson a few days ago that he is A259/A260, however > no permission has been given to me to do anything with it and I have no > access to the file hence its not been added to the public tree. > > > > Iain > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: bernardmorgan@hotmail.com > > > To: dna-r1b1c7@rootsweb.com > > > Date: Fri, 23 May 2014 12:05:51 +0000 > > > Subject: [R-M222] O'Shaughnessy result > > > > > > I see the O'Shaughnessy Big Y result have been uploaded to the L21 > project. I believe David Wilson already tried that - he has access to project email addresses and I don't of course. Paul I don't know who created this panel (not me!), its been knocking around for a while now. Two of them are private Kennedy markers but are marked on my tree. FGC4111 is one of Aidan Byrne's private SNPs I believe. FGC449 is another name for S7072 and I believe we are all positive for it, ditto Z2968 which is one of the so-called 'M222 equivalents'. The rest are on the tree as you name them. I was told by David Wilson a few days ago that he is A259/A260, however no permission has been given to me to do anything with it and I have no access to the file hence its not been added to the public tree. I see that for $349 YSEQ will test a panel of 24 SNPs downstream of M222. Is there a tree chart available that shows how these connect? It would be interesting to compare such a chart with Iain Kennedy's tree that I believe is based on Chromo2. The SNPs on YSEQ's panel are: DF104 DF85 DF97 F1265 FGC4077 FGC4078 FGC4111 FGC449 FGC5856 FGC5870 S568 S588 S590 S595 S597 S603 S658 S660 S668 S668 S673 S7050 S7814 Z2968
I see the O'Shaughnessy Big Y result have been uploaded to the L21 project. Do we know what his terminal SNP is? File : /Big_Y_results/M222_36712_O'Shaughnessy_Big_Y_20140522.zip
This includes integration between FGC and BIG Y...Chromo2 stuff there as applicable. Iain, if I may suggest a solution that you have already represented that you are opposed to, but to save yourself the frustration as well as that of those who have given the admins permissions -- Join the L21 project @ yahoo groups and you may access the files that have been up-loaded into the filing system. You do not have to receive the email messages, or contribute, or any of the rest of it if you choose not to. I took a second glance at Z16323 and question it now. 24293374G>C Z16323 In Ybrowse it shows up on an Palindrome segment which is not good for stability. Palindrome segments are subject to recLOH events that can wipe out SNPs. A second clue is that f27202 Cunniff is FGC4087+, which appears equivalent to FGC4077 and FGC4078, I think. The Milligan's are not FGC4087+ so that would make Z16323 phylogenetically inconsistent with FGC4078. Aidan, do you have any information on which of these SNPs are older or younger? Any thoughts on who should test for which? This is timely as YSEQ still has their sale going. I request that anyone who tests with YSEQ join the YSEQ public project for Group ID=11. It is administered by Mark Jost, our ISOGG coordinator. Joining that group allows us to easily copy YSEQ results in with other data, thereby giving us an integrated view of SNPs from multiple sources. Think of the YSEQ group as a rough Y DNA SNP report screen, just know MKDA origins info. However, if you post your kit# and YSEQ ID I have a system where that is all integrated so those SNPs can show up in the R1b-L21 and R1b-M222 haplotype spreadsheets along with STRs.
