Hi Mike, The odd thing is that gravity remains a theory which has never been proven. You know it, I know it and everybody else knows it, but scientifically it remains only a theory. It seems that now could be the time to let the new genetics "Next Generation" SNP testing have a rest, to have a shake-down over time. Yeah, that could take some time, but eventually the genetic testing companies will need to come to common terms which will be applicable to all. Hi David and All, And so could this be a good time for all of us to stand up, to scream and shout and to DEMAND that a "universal" genetic code become employed? That is, a genetic terminology, language or code of test results which could be equally applicable between all such genetic testing agencies? That actually could be of good use to the testing companies as perhaps their clients could then have fewer doubts or questions. Yeah, this is only the M222 board and we are only the little guys, but that kind of proposal could begin here. Doug, I don't know if you've seen that DF49xM222 project admins submitted some new SNPs to FTDNA that are now being offered by them a la carte. The irony is that the project admins didn't even submit them to ISOGG's Ybrowse yet and went ahead with their "ZP" series labeling. (I think one of the guys is named Peter but I'm not sure where the "P" comes from.) Anyway, FTDNA adopted those labels. The irony is a few months ago people thought FTDNA would confuse things more by creating a new labeling system for SNPs. Instead, they got out of the labeling business and are using whatever is out there include the hobbyist "DF", "Z" labeling, FGC's "FGC" labeling and even BISDNA's "S" labeling. Ultimately they have become most supportive of interoperability and are the most agnostic. I'm not saying FTDNA doesn't have warts though. They clearly do. Believe me, I feel the pain as an admin. I just got results back from YSEQ that I'm A259+ A260+, and have ordered FGC5939.2. Kyle DePew FTDNA Kit N113849 YSEQ ID 638
Let me correct this once again. FGC449, AKA S7072, is equivalent to M222, not S7073. I had forgotten that there is one Chromo2 tester who is derived for S7072 but ancestral for S7073. Hi David and Mike, My surname is Morrison and I have already given you my 111, Deep Clade and Big Y test results. Then I handed my latest Big Y discount coupon over to Edwin Holcombe who is the Administrator of the Morrison FTDNA project and who is the Secretary of the Morrison Society of North America. This goes to the root of genetic division, as apparently I could be either Irish or Scottish. For instance, I also am included on the Doherty FTDNA project due to close genetic linkage and to known historical linkages spanning several hundred years between the Doherty and Morrison families of eastern Donegal, Ireland, and yet there is a possibility that the Doherty family itself might originally have been Scottish. Oh, we of the M222 group are of such terrifically tangled genetic heritage!!! I would like to reinforce Mike's request. If any members of this list have received a coupon code for a Big Y discount and will not be using it, please consider posting the code here so that others can make use of it if they are so inclined. The more Big Y tests within R-M222 we can get, the more refined the tree will be. There is a clock ticking on this, so please post any code you will not be using yourself either today or tomorrow in order to make sure it doesn't go to waste. Coupon codes are not supposed to work more than once but so far those who have tried this one said it does. FDS140997 It comes from a consulting partner of FTDNA so maybe she has a special code. All I know is that if you know for sure you want to order I'd jump on it. Hello all, I have just been reading all the news about the Big Y Father's Day offer from FTDNA. If anyone has a discount coupon that is going to go-to-waste, then please could you send it to me because I will most certainly use it! If in the event that I get too many, I will then post them for others to utilise. Many thanks. Stephen. B3060. 11 June 2014.

Chromo2 has me as M222>S588>S7814. Does anyone have a Big Y discount coupon that he has no use for? If I can get my cost down to $495, I will go for it. Paul Burns

Sorry for the confusion, Colin Williams and myself known to be A223/4/5 positive share five off modal markers in the 111 set. They are listed below with frequency of occurrence in the M222+ set of 280 111 marker haplotypes in Mike's spreadsheet R1b-L21_Haplotypes_Ext.xlsm DYS607=15 (28) DYS534=17 (34) DYS710=33 (26) DYS462=12 (10) DYS532=14 (31) DYS587=19 (7) These two kits share the two lowest frequency of occurrence markers; DYS587=19 and DYS462=12 (4) f89028 Cowan f30896 McCord

Sorry for the bad subject in the preceding post. At least I called the SNP by the right name in the test! Iain, OK, given the fact that genetic mutations can occur, I am not going to expect too much. Hey, I made it into the M222 group and then got into the S660 group. Good enough! Dear Paul, Great news that you have taken this new breakaway project in hand. Best of luck and thanks very much. Of the 23 I submitted, they selected the most promising 7, and now offer them for testing.
