I am looking for anything to back up the family lore about my Husband's GG Grandmother. We have very little info and no documentation due to Indiana's not requiring birth and death certificates until quite late. Any info and/or suggestions on how or where to search would be appreciated. Albert Alphonzo Brown b. abt1858 in Freemont, Ind. m. Annie Brody [b. abt 1865] at City West or Liberty Mills, Ind. about 1883. Albert's mother was Cleo Disbro who family lore says was from Canada. No family member, still living, seems to know who her spouse was. They had several children all girls. One of which was Edith, who was born at Pullman, Ill. 24 July 1888. She m.Walter Huff and they lived in Porter Co. Indiana until her death from the influenza epidemic in 1918. We wrote to Pullman as family lore said Albert worked for the Pullman Co. He was a carpenter by trade. The fact that Edith was born there would lead one to believe it to be true...however the researcher was not able to find him. TIA , Kate
