>From - Mike Disbrow, listowner Update to the Disbrow Family Website: I've added both of the name-indexes to my book, "Descendants of Thomas & Mercy (Holbridge) Disbrow", to the Disbrow Family website at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/5853/ I thought this would be a good tool for people who don't have my book and want to know if their ancestors are listed in it. And a reminder that there are twelve different "Disbrow Descendants Reports" at the website as well, each of which is indexed. Soon I will be compiling one comprehensive name index to all these reports and posting it on the website so that no one will need to look through each one separately. Here are the links to two different Disbrow message boards where you can post queries and look through the ones already posted: Disbrow Family Genealogy Forum: http://genforum.genealogy.com/disbrow/ Disbrow message board at Rootsweb: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.disbrow/mb.ashx Each one requires you to register if you want to post anything, but registration is free. And here's a valuable link that I didn't know about until recently: http://www.lib.byu.edu/fhc/index.php This will bring up a search page in the BYU Family History Collection. Type in the name Disbrow in the Surname box, "search" and it will bring up two documents: 1) A brief history of the Disbrows from 1512 to 1934 by Disbrow, Charles Whiteford 2) Your mamas and your papas by Disbrow, Bernice Alsup These pdf files can be read online or downloaded. Click on the title and a pdf will open. If you want to download, go clear to the bottom of the lefthand list to the "Printing version", and there will be one or several files you can download, rather than having to copy one page at a time. There's a ton of other old books and documents in this collection, too. You can spend quite a bit of time searching for surnames, local histories, etc. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. And my best wishes to all for a Happy New Year! Mike -- "Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." - Groucho Marx
