Dear Mike: Does your book on descendants of Thomas and MercyDisbrow contain any information on Catherine Disbrow? Catherine was a daughter of Justus and Elizabeth Disbrow. Justus was a son of Caleb Disbrow, who was a grandson of Thomas and Mercy. Catherine (Katy) was baptized at Greens Farms Congregational Church in Westport, Conn. She married James Arnold. (I have visited the cemetery in Conn., where they are buried together). Their first 3 children were boys, the second and third named Edwin Lorenzo and Charles. I believe the first boy was Albert Arnold, born ca 1816. Albert is my great great grandfather. He named his first son James and his second son Edwin Lorenzo. I need some verification that Albert's parents were James Arnold and catherine disbrow. Would your book or CD contain any information on this? James and Catherine had later children, Augustus, Catherine and Mary. >From - Mike Disbrow, listowner Nancy - Since you wrote to me through the Disbrow Mailing List, I'll answer the same way, and maybe someone on the list will have more info for you. Unfortunately, at the time I compiled my book on Thomas Disbrow's Descendants, the only information I was able to include on Catherine/Katy, daughter of Justus and Sarah (Davis) Disbrow, was that she was baptized 15 Jan. 1788 in Greens Farms, CT; and that she possibly married an Arnold. I used two sources for this information: 1) the book "Families of Fairfield" by Donald L. Jacobus, Vol. II, p. 310 2) a DNR membership application for Aileen (Gantt) Cochran, on which she included some vague family information. This was included in some family data submitted to me by Iris G. Selnack in 1991. I have received no further information on Catherine since that time, but hopefully you, or someone else, could supply us with any details you uncover in your research. We are always glad to get updates to our Disbrows and the related families.
