>From - Mike Disbrow, listowner (2nd try - I apologize if you get this twice) Greetings! I've started working on a project that's long overdue and that is to get all my Disbrow materials on CDs so they can be easily shared with whoever is interested. My first endeavor is the military and pension files. In an effort to make these as complete as possible I'm sending out a plea to all who have procured any of these records from the National Archives, pertaining to any Disbrow soldier. My first CD will include all the records I have of Disbrow men who served in the American Revolution, the War of 1812 and the Mexican War. Here is a list of all the military and/or pension files I have, the soldier's name and the state from which he served: American Revolution: ASA DISBROW - CT CALEB DISBROW - CT HENRY DISBROW - CT JOHN D. DISBROW - NJ JOSEPH DISBROW - CT JOSHUA DISBROW - CT JUSTUS DISBROW - CT SIMON DISBROW - CT War of 1812: ELIAS DISBROW - NY JACOB DISBROW - NY JAMES DISBROW - NY SAMUEL DISBROW - CT SANFORD DISBROW - NY SMITH DISBROW - NY THOMAS DISBROW - NY ZALMON A. DISBROW - NY Mexican War: LARREN E. DISBROW - MI If any of you have files of men not listed above and would like to share them, please contact me soon, as I'd like to get them included on the CD. I'll also be including some supplemental materials, such as complete lists of all Disbrow soldiers whose records are on file with the National Archives, and some brief genealogical notes on each of the identifiable men. When the CDs are ready, I'll send a notice out on this list and also post it on the Disbrow web site. The cost will be minimal. My next project will be to get all the Civil War soldiers' records scanned, which will take quite a while as there are many papers. If anyone has thoughts or suggestions on what other records you would like to see on CD please let me know. One thought I'd had was to copy all the Disbrow Family Newsletters for the years I was publishing it, 1984-87, as there is quite a bit of good info in them and most people have probably never seen them. Mike
