My name is Shirley Holder Antrim. My proven Holder descendancy is from the Northern Neck of Virginia via a perfect DNA connection to two lovely ladies who descend from Luke Holder who appears to us in Prince William Co., Virginia in the 1750s. To date we have not found Luke's parents, although a John Holder is a possibility. I do not descend from Luke. Luke was probably born about 1725 and we believe has several brothers, possibly William, Joseph and Davis Holder, and perhaps others. Luke stayed in Pr. Wm and Loudon Co.s until he removed to Fort Boonesborough, Kentucky in the 1780s to be with his son, Col. John Holder. Davis remained in Prince William Co., VA but his son, Davis, removed to Pittsylvania Co., Virginia while William and Joseph both removed to Southside Virginia and on to North Carolina. My brother's DNA is closely matched with descendants of these possible brothers of Luke. I'm sure you will experience the same surprise as did I when I found out that my brother's Holder DNA matched that of Robert Disbrow within 2 markers at the 67 level markers. This, of course, means that there must have been a naughty Holder man and Disbrow lady someplace back there in history., which bothers me NOT! And I hope it doesn't bother you! Or there could have been an adoption, perhaps not legal, since many families raised deceased parent's children. I only find it fascinating that I have Disbrow cousins out there! My correspondence to date has been with Mary Jo Neyer who is the correspondent concerning the Robert Disbrow DNA entry. We haven't been able to find a connection. It is my hope that someone of you would be as interested as am I to find if possible where our connection is, be it hundred's of years ago or more recent. Shirley Holder Antrim
