To: mdisbrow1@sbcglobal.net My name is David Obst. I came upon a big oak board that has Disbrow S and D Co. Cedar Rapids IA, painted in block letters on it. It was part of some kitchen cabinets from the 1920's. I was just wondering more about the history of the piece. For example, was it part of another piece of furniture before it came part of a cabinet. It does look like it had been a table top at one time. Anyway my phone number is 319-366-2287. I did find that a family of Disbrows lived in Iowa in the late 1800's through the 1900's that owned a log mill. I wondered if they were related. Hope life is treating you good. The trouble is all my indexes are by first names, and I can't put a first name to this problem. If memory serves me correctly, the Disbrow Sash and Door Co. was originally in Clinton, Iowa.
