I'm sorry, you got the wrong Disbrow, but it IS odd that I accidently got your email and am also a Disbrow. My Disbrow family has a family Bible which I have inherited as soon as I can pick it up. Our Bible goes from oldest son to oldest son, which I am, but my uncle borrowed the Bible from my father who passed in 1995, then my uncle last year, so I need to pick it up from my aunt. As I said, I am a Disbrow, my name is Gale, my fathers name was Gale, my grandfather was Glenn, and I don't remember my great grandfathers name. I don't know if any of this means anything to you, but with this sketchy inormation I would appreciate it a great deal if you could expound on my family history, until I receive my family Bible, I am very much interested in knowing my history and ancestors. interested Gale Disbrow -----Original Message----- From: mdisbrow1@sbcglobal.net To: disbrow@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, 4 Oct 2006 11:32 AM Subject: Re: [DISBROW] L.S. Disbrow Paul - I recognize your name (and not in regards to the comedian/actor of the same name). Maybe it's because you've been on the mailing list for awhile? Anyway, I have this family in my book in some detail. Lodowick S. Disbrow was a son of James and Abigail (Terry) Disbrow, who were originally from Dutchess/Putnam Co., NY. It is believed, but never has been proved that James was a son of Andrew Disbrow of Putnam, originally from Fairfield Co., CT. Andrew was a son of Nathan, and in turn Nathan was a son of Thomas Jr., and then Thomas Sr. of Fairfield. I'm not trying to "push" my book at you, but for the complete picture of this line of Disbrows, it would be worth your while to see it. Check out the link on the Disbrow web site for a description of the book (Part 1, now available only on CD or at one of the libraries listed if you're near one).
