>From - Mike Disbrow, listowner By doing a search in the Social Security Death Index at Familysearch.org I learned that Donald W. Disbrow passed away on 16 Jan. 2005 in Maryland. Donald, a former professor of history at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, helped out greatly with the research on my book, Thomas Disbrow Descendants, attended several of our Disbrow family workshops back in the '80's, and was generally a very interesting and friendly fellow to know. His family info can be found on p. 227 of Part 2 of Thomas Disbrow Descendants, under (3-10-5-3-1-3-4) Donald Willis-9 Disbrow. I searched around for an obituary online, and found this partial at Legacy.com, but they wanted $2.95 for the complete article. I found similar results at the Ann Arbor News archive, and they also wanted $2.95 for the rest. Here is what Legacy.com gave me: "Disbrow, Donald W. - Disbrow, Donald W. Charlotte Hall, MD Age 87, died unexpectedly on Sunday January 16, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, in Leonard town, MD. Mr. Disbrow ... Baird Funeral Home, Dundee." --Published in the Ann Arbor News on MLive.com on 1/23/2005. Don used to call me occasionally after his wife Dorothy passed away and he moved out of Michigan, first to Rochester, NY, and later to Maryland where, I believe, one of his daughters lived. But I hadn't heard from him for quite a few years and got to wondering what happened to him, which prompted my search in the Social Security records. If anyone can find a complete obit for Don, please pass it along to the mailing list or to me. He was originally from the Dundee, Yates County, New York area. Mike
Hi Michael - I went to the Dundee Historical Society, and found this obit. I think it was from the Dundee Observer. If you need the name of the newspaper and date, I could call them and find out. I am researching Disbrows in the Dundee area, so I was very interested that his family info was in the Thomas Disbrow Descendants book. I am looking for the ancestors of Lodewick (or Ludowick or Lodowick, etc) Disbrow (1806-1882) who lived in the Dundee area. Can you tell me if there is any information on his ancestors in the book, and how far back his line can be traced?
