Hi Perry. I have a Dillon family in neighboring Belmont Co., Ohio. Isaac Dillon is in Belmont for the 1830 census then is gone in 1840 when Rebecca (Hogue?) Dillon appears as head of household. In 1850 she (age 53) has kids Granville (27), El__ira (18), Rebecca H. (16). The 1840 census has only one boy in the household (age 15-19) which would be Granville, age 17. The 1830 census, however, has one more boy: Isaac Dillon (head) with 1 m 5-9 (this would be Granville age 7, 1 m 10-14 (unknown), 1 m 30-39 (Isaac), 2 f 5-9 (unknown), 1 f 30-39 (Rebecca). The age is off by a year or so, but the male 10-14 could be your William. Does anything else click? Terry Bava Dillon Researchers: I am still looking for a clue to connect my William Dillon with his proper parents and ancestors. William was born in 1822 in Ohio - most likely Monroe County as in the 1850 Census we find William living with his wife Elizabeth (?) Dillon and their three sons: Abraham age 6; Henry age 4 and Joh age 3. The maiden name of the wife of Elizabeth Dillon may have been Highley as there was an Elizabeth Highley living in the Dillon household in the 1840 census. In that 1840 Census there was a James Dillon family living in Monroe County with his wife and children. However, they are not shown in the 1850 census so expect that James died sometime between census counts. If we had the names of those children, we mught be able to track the family back. Thank you for your help. Best wishes, Perry Adams San Carlos, California ______________________________ _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
