I have the ever elusive Dillons for family. My John Dillon m. Ann Birnie in Fermanagh, Ireland. He was Catholic and a Tailor. John and Ann moved to Glasglow, Lanark, Scotland somethime before 1858. I could not find them on the 1861 census, but on the 1871 there is a John Dillon and wife Marie, at the Broadclose address. They are both in their 70's, so may be John's parents. Ann was married previousy to a McNulty, and had a son Patrick. John and Ann's children were John b. ? May have moved to Soux City IA Charles P. b. Oct 1858 in Scotland Elizabeth b. 05 Oct. 1859, d. bef 1867, Glasglow, Lanark Scotland Jane 27 March 1862, d. bef 1867, Glasglow, " ' Thomas Joseph b. 04 Feb. 1865 " " " d. 13 Feb 1945, Dubuque, Dubuque, IA m. 28 Oct 1890, Rose Belle McGee Dubuque Eliza Jane b. 02 Nov. 1867 Glasglow, Lanark, Scotland, d. Dubuque, IA John and Ann were reported to have come into NY. John may have died there. I cannot find him or the family until 1880 in Dubuque where Ann is listed as Widow. Ann and son Patrick both died after 1880 and before 1900. Reportedly very close together. Patrick leaving widow Maggie and no children. Can anyone help with this family? Marilyn Salem, OR
