    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BAT.2ACIB/1016.2 Message Board Post: Am just getting into this family history thing, but I may have info re: James T. Dillon. I realize that you posted your query ages ago but, here goes. From what I can piece together James could possibly be the son of Thomas Dillon (b.1701) and Mary LeBotille(?). This may fit in with your James being born about 20-30 years later. Thomas was the son of William Dillon Sr. (b.1681). Thomas appears to be the son of Henry Dillon (b.1655). Elinor (?) was Henrys wife. They held land in King William Co. and 2 others I can't remember the name of. Eventually it became Franklin Co. and as far as I know the descendents are still there. I am in the line on two sides of the family and I am sure back to great, great, great grandmother. Beyond that it is what little I have been able to piece together. Happy hunting.

    3. I am researching the DILLON family from Monroe County, Ohio. My great-great grandfather was William DILLON who was born in Ohio in 1822. (Likely place of birth was Monroe County, perhaps Perry Township.) My William may have been the son of James DILLON who was living Perry Township in 1840 with his wife and several children including perhaps my William who was then between the ages of 15-20. In that 1840 Monroe Perry Township census, James Dillon was between the ages of 60 and 70, this would make his birth sometime between 1770 and 1780. He does not appear in the 1850 census. So most likely moved away or passed away. I do not know the name of his spouse or the names of other children so I cannot check on them in the 1850 census. In checking through some Monroe County deeds of land, I find in 1838 James Dillon purchasing land. Then in 1839 I find James Dillon Jr and wife Phebe Dillon selling land to John Dillon. It appears to be the same land. I also found where John Dillon and wife Margaret Dillon sold land to Jane Ward in 1847. Can anyone identify these people? James Jr and Phebe Dillon, John and Margaret Dillon? I am looking to connect my William with his proper parents and ancestors. Thank you for your help. Perry Adams
