    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Dillon, Davis, Hensley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BAT.2ACIB/777.1.1.2 Message Board Post: We are also Dillon descendants from Robert Dillon and Sarah Messer. We have a little information on the Davises in Logan County gotten from "History of Logan County, W.Va." by Henry Clay Ragland written in 1896. These events were very early 1800's. William Davis came from Albemarle County (claimed to be first cousin of Thomas Jefferson). William married a Mrs. Hensley of Russel County. William and Mrs. Hensley had only one daughter. He married a second time to a Miss Runyon by whom he had two daughters - one married Jess Stratedge and the other married Jacob Runyon. Stepdaughter of William Davis and daughter of Mrs. Hensley married William Davis, the son of Thomas Davis of Albemarle County, Virginia. Thomas and the prior William were brothers. The younger William Davis, from whom all of the Davises of the Tug Valley descend, had four sons and two daughters. His sons were George, William, and Joseph (who had all married Miss Dillons -daughters of Christopher Dillon), and Henry who married a Miss Stotts. His two daughters married Daniel Hensley, Jr. and Jas. Bailey. Hope this helps in some way. Has to be a connection.
