Some time ago, I was looking for the grave af my gGrandfather's HALF-brother, Coleman Carroll (b. 1851 - d.1909). According to cemetery ecords at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, Pa., Coleman was buried in section 2, Range 13, Lot 8, Grave 4. There was no stone with Coleman's name, but I did learn that he was buried with James, Hannah, and James Hannigan; Mary and William H. Hello Dillons, I don't connect in any way to the line in the letters; but I do have a suggestion for you if they ever go looking for another "home." There is a wonderful museum in the town of Tehama, a town very near to Vina, I can bet that they would love Ida Dillon's letters. I can see it now: The Pedigree chart, the family group sheets, land deeds to show where the farm was located, a picture or two, and those sweet letters. It would make a great display. Think about it. One of the things that we, as genealogists, must think about is where the final resting place of our research will be: High school year books should be in the county library where the school is located. Diaries should be placed at universities or research centers that specialize in the trail crossed or the community lived in. Family research should have a copy at the National Archives, another in Salt Lake with the LDS, and the originals stay with the family. Think about it now...before your kids clean up all that clutter Mom/Dad have been saving all these years. Hi all, Looking for anything on Peter Dillon: married Mary Monihan(sp). They had at least two daughters; (unknown Dillon) and Jane Nancy Dillon or Nancy Jane Dillon; born October 17, 1859. She married Charles Calvin Chilcote in 1879 in Mt. Union, Pa (Huntingdon Co) and died April 12, 1925. Anything at all on Peter Dillon would be very much appreciated. Cheers and thanks, Bill
Hi all. I'm new to the list, here's my DILLON line: Rebecca H. Dillon was b. OH, probably Belmont Co., abt. 1835. She m. John T. FIELDS in 1865 and they had Guy Dillon FIELDS b. 1866 and Agnes A. FIELDS b. 1867. From census records Rebecca appears to be the d/o Rebecca DILLON b. abt. 1796 VA. Rebecca appears in Union Twp., Belmont Co. OH in the 1870, 1860, 1850 and 1840 censuses, with no husband. She does not appear in 1830 and the only DILLON in Union Twp. is Isaac DILLON. An Isaac Dillon m. Rebecca HOGUE in Belmont Co. Mar 19, 1818. Any info on these people would be much appreciated. Terry Bava
> I am looking to identify the members of the James Dillon who was > residing in Perry Township in the 1840 census Hi Perry , No luck so far about my William Dillon. I am wondering if anyone has access to a census of 1860 that would list a William Dillon (or Dillen) and wife Martha , and children . Acually my grandmother was born 1862 , so she would not appear on a census until 1870. This would be in Hocking County Ohio. Thanks Susan
I am looking to identify the members of the James Dillon who was residing in Perry Township in the 1840 census. James is shown as being between the ages of 60 and 70 in that 1840 census. However, in the 1850 census he does not appear. So he either moved or passed on between 1840 census and the 1850 census. Also in that 1840 census was shown his wife as being between the ages of 50 and 60. One male child under age 5; One male child age 5-10, 2 males ages 10-15; one male ages 15-20. One female age 5-10, One female age 10-15; One female age and one female 15-20. Plus James wife between the ages of 50-60. Does any of this tie in with your James Dillon? Perry Adams,

Surnames: Dillon Sprague Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BAT.2ACIB/1046 Message Board Post: I'm new to the search for family but just saw your message on the Dillon message bd. re a Frank Dillon and in another message a Carl Dillon. Also noted that you live(ed?) in Portland. My grandfather, L. Carl Dillon, died in Hillsboro, Or in 1970. I'm looking for information on his relatives in Oregon and would like to know where he and my grandmother, Merle Sprague, were married and when. Also, Frank must've played a part in the scenario since my Dad was named Wallace Franklin Dillon. Perhaps Lindley Carl Dillon was a brother? He was born in 1885 - but don't know where. I hope some of these names will help us solve some mysteries. Thanks in advance for your help.
