    1. [DILLON] Re: [MDCAROLI] Dillon family
    2. Perry Adams
    3. Other than the Name JAMES DILLON, I do not have anything in my database on the names mentioned below. Can someone help connect them up? I am starting with a James Dillon age 74 living in Monroe County in 1850 census with his son Thomas age 23. In that 1850 census, James is shown as being born in Maryland. (1776). In reading through some old Monroe County deed records, I find both a James Dillon and a James Dillon Junior. Which indicates to me there must have been a James Dillon Senior living there in the 1840-1850s. There is a slight possibility that James Dillon born around 1776 was the father of a William Dillon born in 1822 who was living in Monroe County Ohio in the 1850 census. Thanks for help. 1. [DILLON] William Dillon 1822 Ancestors
    2. Perry Adams
    3. In case there are some new researchers on line, I am still looking to connect my William DILLON with his proper parents and ancestors. William was born in Ohio in 1822. In the 1850 census he shows up in the Monroe county, Green township with his wife Elizabeth (?) and three young sons. Abraham, Henry and John. In the 1840 Monroe county census is shown a James Dillon family with a male that would match my William Dillon's age (15-20). In the 1850 census this James Dillon age 74 was living with his son in Monroe county. James' birth place was shown as being Maryland. That would make James Dillon's birth date 1776. Does anyone have information on this Dillon family? Thank you for your help Perry Adams San Carlos, California

They had a son John, who was born about 1847, and educated at Edinburgh. There could have been other children. John was disinherited for marrying a girl that Margurite did not approve of. I wondered if John had a brother named Thomas, who had a shipping business in Newcastle and held a seat in Parliament. Cheers, Melinda Knight from Sugar Land, Texas

I have some wonderful info I got from a lady researching them, and there is a William Dillon born in 1750 to Daniel Dillon Sr. I have no further information on William but she might; email me privately at godisgood5@netzero.net and I can give you her address (I hate to post her address here, just doesn't feel right.) You might also go to usgenweb and find Tazewell Co IL to see if they have any info online about a William Dillon. I hear there is a town in the area called Dillon, thanks to these early settlers. Hope this helps!

    3. I am trying to connect my William DILLON born in 1822 in Ohio with his proper parents and ancestors do not know which county William came from but in the 1850 census he was living in Monroe County Ohio with his wife Elizabeth and three young sons: Abraham, Henry and John. It is possible that my William was the son of James Dillon shown in the 1840 census living in Monroe County, Perry Township. James Dillon was born 1776 in Maryland. James may have been a Junior. As several Monroe County land transfers were made by a James Dillon Jr and his wife Phoebe Dillon. This would indicate there was a James Dillon Sr somewhere nearby. The birth of that James would have been around 1750. It is also possible that the older James Dillon may have been the son of a Moses Dillon from Maryland I would certainly welcome any help on identifying the parents of my William Dillon and tracking his ancestors. Thank you for your help.
