His fourth Child was a Richard, born between 1864 and 1870. My grandfather was his younger brother. Thats all the info I have on Richard, not even his middle name. My father's middle name was Francis, and is supposed to be a family name, he was named Francis after St. Francis, as he had to bear a saints name to be baptised. Patrick's wife was Mary Ellen Hannaway. She was born in Ireland. She died in East Greemwich Nov 3, 1896. Patrick died Dec 20, 1897 in East Greenwich. We have a naturalization paper on Patrick, dated Mar 1872. Patrick was born Mar 27, 1829. Children were Edward. Winifred, Charles, Richard, and Joseph. We are in contact with decendants of Edward in Rhode Island.

    3. I am trying to locate the parentage and ancestors of a William Dillon born in 1822 in Ohio. (Perhaps Monroe County, Green Township, Ohio.) My William may have been a grandson of James Dillon and Sarah Monks. I am looking for the names of the children of James Dillon born in 1748 so that I can track their children in hopes I can locate the parentage of my William mentioned above. I do know my William born in 1822 married Elizabeth (?) about 1842/3. They lived in Monroe County, Green Township in 1850 census and had three sons at that time. Abraham age 6, Henry age 4 and John age 3. In about 1853 they moved to Decatur County Iowa. My Dillon line continued to live in Decatur county and the two sons (Abraham and Henry) married two Galpin girls who lived near them. Do you have any information on this Dillon Line? 3. researchers: I am looking to connect Elizabeth Dillon with her proper parentage and ancestors. Elizabeth Dillon probably died in Gallatin MO in the home of her son Henry Dillon who was a farmer there until at least 1890. I am in hopes that someone in Daviess county may have access to obituaries that might tell me something of Elizabeth origins. Her maiden name may have been "Highley". She was born in VA in 1816 and died in Gallatin on Sept. 4, 1885. Thank you for your help. Perry Adams San Carlos, California

If you are looking for more info on those in my direct line, I would be glad to help if you will tell me what you want. Probably best to email me direct as it is easier I think. Bob Gibbs

It also lead me to http://www.geocities.com/JohnHodgin/ , which picks up William's wife Mildred Hodgin and explores the Hodgin/Hodson/Hodgson line. Have you done any research further back? If you feel like it, I would love to receive an e-mail message showing how the family line descends to you.

Do you know why this is? I do know there have been some discrepancies re: Benjamin Dillon's .(James's father) birthdate. I believe he was actually born abt. 1750, because he enlisted as a Revolutionary War soldier on 28, Nov, 1776, and married Charlotte Hunnings on 24 Apr. 1799. Hester Ann and David Adams are also connected to this family as the parents of Eliza Ann Adams, who married Benjamin E. Dillon (grandson of Benjamin and Charlotte). Do you know of another connection? Thanks for your time!
