The information I have is minimal because most everyone who could add information is either deceased or they don't remember. His name was George Dillon and he was born in WV (I'm thinking either in Kanawha or Boone County). He was born around Abt. 1880 and married Sarah Goldie Holstein. They had three children (Myrtle, Fred E. and my grandmother Lillian Rosella). Supposedly he died while pitching on a baseball team in 1907 and a batted ball hit him in the chest. It's believed this happened either in Peytona or Racine, WV. One of my uncles said he thought George's middle name was Paris (Parris/Pearis). I ran across a Parris Dillon in Putnam County, WV with a son named George but I don't think this is the one. I would sincerely appreciate any information anyone could add. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Robin - thanks so much for posting the obituary notice on Joseph Dillon. Unfortunately, the info you provided does not match anything in my database. However, there is enough similarity to the info I have that I cannot ignore your info. Do you have the siblings and/or parents of Joseph? My great-great- grandfather, Reuben Miller Dillon, was born in 1832 in KY and by 1857 he had moved to Amador County, CA. From that point to the present I have pretty good documentation on him and his descendants. That is documented on my web site @ http://members.aol.com/wbdillon/wa3scw.htm

I am still looking to connect my William Dillon with his proper parents and ancestors. Also, I am trying to identify the maiden name of his wife Elizabeth. Her maiden name may have been Highley. They married in Monroe county about 1842/43 as their oldest son Abraham was born in 1843. In the 1850 Green township, Monroe county census, William is shown with wife Elizabeth (?) Dillon and their three children: Abraham age 6, Henry age 4 and John age 3. Do you have any information on these families? Thank you for your help. Perry Adams, San Carlos, California

To Whom it May Concern; I am the descendant of a person interred at the Hudson County Burial Grounds located in Secaucus, New Jersey. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority wants to move all 3,500 remains into a common grave. I do not believe the public has been notified of this topic enough. I have started a petition to help show support of the public being against this matter. Our online petition as well as our paper petition has been circulating for just two days now and has been getting tremendous response. I have sent a letter to the judge in charge of this case and await his reply. I want the right to speak to the judge about this case in court. I want the public to be well informed of this matter. I want your help in spreading the news of this situation. They moved to Indiana, around Valparaiso. I believe she taught school. Don't know the father's first name for Minnie, but my grandmother was Lenora (Nora) Dillon Hineline. By the time I met Aunt Minnie she was old and retired. She grew strawberries and raised chickens - what a character! She showed me (at age 9) how to shoot the head off the chicken for a "fresh" dinner - UGH! I had very little contact with her and Uncle Harold, but I remember them as loving, sweet people. My Mom used to spend time on their farm during the summers, out of the Chicago heat. If you have any info please contact me. Oh - Minnie's father lived in a one-room frame cabin and as the years went by, it started to slip on the hill in Indiana, but he wouldn't leave! Guess the Dillon's were a stubborn bunch! Any info appreciated. Also, Violet Dillon married Roy Linderman and ran a landscaping company out of Valparaiso - she was a school teacher. Help! Suzi Schor (the long lost cousin!)
