Colin: Thank you for your email message with its glimmer of hope of locating my William Dillon parents and connecting to his ancestors. What I have on file for William Dillon and his wife Mary Reece is as follows: I show William as being born in 1715 in Bucks County, PA and that he married Mary Reece in Fredericks County, VA in 1742. They had at least 7 children. they were: Charity born in 1743 and married a Reece Ann born in 1743 and married a Haworth James born in 1748 and married Sarah Monks in 1774. (He was disowned by the Quakers in 1774.) John born in 1751 Mary born in ? John born in 1751 Mary born in ? Susannah born in 1755 Hannah born in 1770. I do not have the names of any of James and Sarah (Monk) Dillon's children. Do you have them? One of their sons could be the father or grandfather of my William Dillon who was born in 1822 in Ohio. I do have the names of the spouses of the other children and in some cases the names of their children, if you need them. Perhaps someone reading this message maybe able to provide us with the names of James and Sarah's children in case you do not have them. I checked the phone directory for the listing of a Ronald Dillon in Utah, but came up zip. Thank you again for your email and please let me know what you find. I am looking to connect my William DILLON with his proper parents and ancestors. William was born in Ohio, perhaps in Monroe County. We find William in the 1850 Monroe County, Green township census with his wife Elizabeth and three young sons: Abraham age 6, Henry age 4 and John age 3. Birth place for his wife Elizabeth is shown as being VA. Also living in the 1850 Dillon household was an 80 year old lady by the name of Elizabeth Highley who may have been William's mother-in-law. If that was true, wife Elizabeth's maiden name would be Highley. Does anyone have information on my DILLON family? I have searched the usual sources for information on this family. Thank you for your help. Perry Adams San Carlos, California USA

She married Daniel Burke (DJ) and lived in New York around the late 1890s or so. They had 3 children. Their son, William, was killed in a fire escape accident. The other two children were Johanna and another William. Following the first William's death, they moved west to Chicago. The story is that her family was furious about their departure and never saw her off. She supposedly had a sister Rose. Margaret was from Ireland but we have no idea where. Any info would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to make any progress with the family in Ireland. Maurice, his wife Catherine ( Cruise ) and baby daughter Mary (b 1853, Birr ) arrived in N.S.W. Aust in 1854. There may well be a connection to your forebear Timothy as the family came from the same area, but my research does not extend that far. Cheers. Shirley
I am researching the Dillons who came to NY from Birr, Parsonstown, Kings County, Ireland in 1846. On the ship "Wave" from Dublin; arrived in NYC on May 11, 1846 were Timothy Dillon, his mother, Honor or Anna, his sister Margaret, his niece, Julia Monaghan. They all settled in Pelham/New Rochelle, Westchester County, NY. Timothy's brother, John Dillon had preceded him here. John had a son, Michael who became the first mayor of New Rochelle. Julia Monaghan married Edward Kerwin. Any connections or information appreciated. Laura Lawson Surnames: Dillon, Kelly, Kerwin, Monaghan, Hennessy
