Family legend has it that her mother died just before the family came to US and her father died on the voyage. At some point she came to Azusa, CA and lived with the Ott family until she married my great-grandfather Wm. Frederick "Fred" Hanes in 1890 (He was born in Wurrtemberg, Germany) They had two sons, William and Charles Carl. She died young in 1897. Her obit states that she came "to Glendora with her people about 10 years ago." I have found a Gottfriet William Silzle living in Glendora, b. Germany, 1860, married 1893, Glendora to Nellie Louis, b. Germany. From census records and voter registration, he appears to have lived his life in Glendora. I have been able to trace his descendants.....but would like to know if he was Mary "Annie's" brother....and who their parents might have been.
