She seems to appear from no where. Bertha, as I understand it, was Emma's sister. Emma married Herman and Bertha married my grandfather, Fred. Fred and Herman were brothers. I met Herman a few times at family gatherings near Lena, Wis., but I was just a child. I got the impression that Fred and Herman were close. Any info. about Bertha would be appreciated. I have Bertha and Fred's wedding picture. I'm interested in Bertha because I'm told I'm a lot like her, and she died before I was born. Author: SUNKST77 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dietrich/123.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, I'm just taking a long shot, but I am looking for the family of Mary "Annie" Silzle b. ca 1865 in Germany. Family legend has it that her mother died just before the family came to US and her father died on the voyage. At some point she came to Azusa, CA and lived with the Ott family until she married my great-grandfather Wm. Frederick "Fred" Hanes in 1890 (He was born in Wurrtemberg, Germany) They had two sons, William and Charles Carl. She died young in 1897. Her obit states that she came "to Glendora with her people about 10 years ago." I have found a Gottfriet William Silzle living in Glendora, b. Germany, 1860, married 1893, Glendora to Nellie Louis, b. Germany. From census records and voter registration, he appears to have lived his life in Glendora. I have been able to trace his descendants.....but would like to know if he was Mary "Annie's" brother....and who their parents might have been. Do any of these names fit into your information anywhere? Thanks for any help you can provide. Pam Miller Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: lewandgagner Surnames: Dietrich Bradley Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dietrich/564/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, I am looking for any information on a William Dietrich. He was also known as Gerard (Gerry) Bradley until about the age of 11. He was left with my great grandparents in D.C. when a baby and lived with them until they died. He was then sent back to live with his biological parents. He is listed as Gerard on the 1930 census as the 10 y.o. son of James and Pearl Bradley. They died prior to the next census. This story was told to me by my mother. I do have a picture that he sent to my grandmother of him in an army uniform and wrote on the back, "Dear Tootsie: This was taken in Eislingen, Germany. I am in the 36 Division and in a rifle company. Please give everyone my love. Love Bill" Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 1. [Dietrich] J.A. DIETRICH Washington, D.C. & Baltimore, Maryland
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mhock165 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dietrich/563/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have a Bible entry that reads, "J.A. Detrick married to Lollie E. Wills 12th day of October 1882." The other surnames listed in this Bible are DIETRICH, DEITRICH, DIETRICK, and WALTER. The handwriting for the above entry was different than all of the other entries. The DIETRICH family listed in this Bible lived in Washington, D.C. At least one of them moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a young woman. The WALTER family mentioned lived in Baltimore, Maryland. I am trying to figure out who J.A. DETRICK may be and how he fits into our family. If you have any information that sheds light on this family, please let me know. I would very much appreciate any help. Also, if this is your family, I would be happy to send you a copy of the Bible pages. Sincerely, Dawn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
