I was told they came from Hirschberg and census records say Bavaria. My immigrant is Friedrich (or Fritz) Dietrich who was married to Anna Marie Beck. He was a blacksmith. Surely he had siblings that came to the US as there are other Dietrichs in the area. Hi, I had relatives in the area between Honesdale and Narrowsburg whom I am desperately trying to find. My grandfather John Dietrich, eventually moved to Scranton, but I'm still looking for Jacob Dietrich or any descendants. Do you have a Jacob or Carl in your line? Ruth

Yea, they messed up in the 1800's when someone applied for membership. Does anyone have Georges real wife's name and/or can straighten out this area. I need to find hopefully the marriages of both George's in order to complete my tree. All other ancestors I have correct with documentation. According to the census data there were two William J Diedrichs that were born in Michigan, one in Saginaw County, the other in Jackson County. The William in Jackson County showed to be married in the 1930 census to Cora Diedrich, and that that was his first marriage. The Marriage License for my grandparents shows that William J Diedrich of Los Angeles, Calif age 24 marrying Lucile Tritle of Salina, Kansas age 24 on Dec 11, 1924 by Probate Judge O H Ford. My mother's birth certificate shows Edith Ann Diedrich being born October 15, 1925. Father: William John Diedrich, Mother: Lucile Tritle, Address: 302 South Phillips Street, Father's Birthplace: Michigan, Mother's Birthplace: Kansas, Father's Occupation: Engineer, and Mother's Occupation: Housewife. My grandmother marries again in Salina, Kansas in 1927. William J Diedrich was never shared with me by my grandmother, nor what happened to him (an accident, disease, or divorce). I what appreciate any help or advice in finding my missing grandfather, and that part of my family!! Gary Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My great-grandmother was Katharine Meinhardt, who was born in Germany in May 1855. She emigrated to the US in 1882 with her two-year-old son, Louis (my grandfather), who was born in Munich in 1880. I don't know anything about Louis' dad, but Katharine married William McKune (born 1866) in New York in 1890 (he adopted Louis) and they had a daughter, Ada (born 1895). All I have is a marriage record and a New York census record from 1900. It would be so great to have a connection to Katharine! I live in Cape Town South Africa. It was Luise Homan who married Charles George Ferdinand Dietrich ( 1819-1897) on 24 May 1844 at Potsdam, Germany. Luise was the daughter of Baron & Baroness Homann (Homan ?). Luise married Charles Dietrich a Civil Engineer against her Parents wishes because they believed she was marrying below her station. She married for love & they had 13 children. 4 survived to adult. I do not know if she was disowned over this but she and her husband moved to Paris then London but travelled back to Hanover on at least one occasion about 1886. Anna Louise Dietrich was, so my Grandmother told me, a God Daughter of the Russian Prince & Princess Dolgoruky. They remained friends for many years.
