This message is from: Minniecare@aol.com The latest info. on the Dick book . Please respond to Minnie - Rosemary Hi Rosemary, I am not researching the Dick family as such. My husband's Uncle Frank Hall married a Nancy Catherine Dick but since she was not in his direct line, I just put down the parents and let it go at that. There are pages upon pages about the Dick family in the 6 books so if they are not from that area it would be useless to try to find the one you need. In the beginning of the Dick family it says "Tradition tells us that the Dicks came from Germany to Pa, into Md and Va. John Dick Sr bought land in Botetroute Co Va in 1791 and sold it in 1795. The first settlers of Germans came into Md between 1748 and 1754 from thr Palatine region of Germany along the Rhine River. The list coming from Rotterdam to Philadelphia Pa ahow the following: Adam Dick arrived 1738 Frederick Dick " 1749 Johann Phillip Dick arrived in 1749 George Dick " 1750 Jacob ' " 1750 Nicholas " " 1750 Phillip Dick " 1750 Johann Peter Dick " 1750 Peter Dick " 1754 I hope this may give you an idea of what is in the book.
