Rodgers, of 310 Park avenue, Johnstown, was fatally kicked by a horse at his uncle's barn near here at 5 o'clock last evening and died shortly before 5 o'clock this morning, aged 25 years. The young man voted in Johnstown on Tuesday and then came here to visit his uncle, James Trindle, of East Wheatfield Township, Indiana County. While standing at the entrance of the barn at 5 o'clock last evening he was kicked in the abdomen by a horse, but was able to walk from there to the Trindle home, where he drank of cup of coffee before retiring. It was not thought his injuries were serious. At an early hour this morning, however, he took suddenly ill, and died before a physician could be summoned. The remains will be taken to the home of his parents in Johnstown this evening and the funeral will take place on Sunday morning, with burial in the new cemetery at Armagh, Indiana County. John Rodgers "hit the trail" during the Sunday meetings in Johnstown one year ago and later became a member of the Second Brethren Church of Johnstown. He is survived by his parents--Harry M. and Bertie Trindle Rodgers--and these brothers and sisters: William, of East Pittsburg; Russell and Paul, at home; Miss Blanche Rodgers, a professional nurse, and June, wife of Andrew Dick, of Dale Terrace Johnstown. Russell and Paul Rodgers came here this morning to accompany the remains to Johnstown. John Rodgers formerly worked for a telephone concern in Johnstown, but of late he had been employed on Mayor Cauffiel's farm in Somerset County. _____________________________________________________ The Johnstown, PA "Tribune" issue of 7 November 1914, p. 20: JOHN RODGERS' BODY BROUGHT HOME HERE Services will Be Held This Evening in Seventeenth Ward by the Rev.
