We have been told that John and his brothers were born in Scotland then moved on to Ireland ,.then to South Carolina. After the American Revolution John received land warrants in Pulaski Co,KY. My line William Henry DICK,his father William Spears DICK,moved to Kansas about 1861,brothers of William Spears DICK left KY a little earlier ,probably scouting for the remainder of the families,some settled in Platte Co.,MO,some went to Jackson, Jefferson,Shawnee,and Allen Counties in Kansas.
