England. It covers the most pertinent parts of the will of William Kirkham DEWHURST, shopkeeper of Chorley (Lancs, ENG) He died 6 Oct 1855, aged 57 years. Buried 12 Oct 1855, St. Laurence Church yard, Chorley Will proven March 1856. After all debts, funeral expenses paid, I give and bequeath to my son Thomas DEWHURST, my six paintings in watercolours done by my late father William DEWHURST, deceased, also all the other pictures, engravings and prints which I may be possessed of at the time of my death. I give to my son William Marsden DEWHURST, my silver cup and to my son John James DEWHURST, the viglincello, or base fiddle, formerly belinging to my said late father. I give and bequeath all the residue of my household goods, and furniture, stock in trade in my business as shopkeeper, plate, linen, and china, books, to my wife Mary DEWHURST for her own and absolute use and benefit, all my part shares, estates and interests of and in a certain message or dwellinghouse and buildings, farm lands hereditaments situated in Lower Darwen. In the county of Lancaster. In the occupation of Lawrences LONGWORTH and other as tennants, also certain yearly ground rents issuing and payable out of the above mentioned land situated in Lower Darwen. To my said wife Mary DEWHURST and my son Thomas DEWHURST executors, all rent on my farm buildings, to be paid to my wife and until all my children, who shall for the time be living, being a son or sons shall reach 21 years, or being a daughter or daughters, shall have attained their age or been married, when sold be shared equally amongst my wife Mary DEWHURST, and my children, Thomas DEWHURST, Mary the wife of Thomas BRITTAIN, Sarah DEWHURST, Eliza DEWHURST, Maria DEWHURST, William Marsden DEWHURST, Ann DEWHURST and John James DEWHURST. Share and share alike if any died under the age of 21 years and without leaving issue, their share goes to other brothers and sisters. If my wife dies before all of her children if any children not married, the income to be paid to them to give them an education.
