She was the daughter of Thomas Dewhirst b. 11 Dec 1831and Betty (Elizabeth) Patchett b. 1 Nov 1835. Thomas was the son of Godfrey Dewhirst b. c.1806 in Heaton and Mary Broadley b. c.1806.
