Hi Jane, The Devon and Cornwall Record Society published "Exeter Freemen 1266-1967" in 1973, edited by Margery Rowe and Andrew Jackson both archivists at the Devon Record Office. This was a members only publication so I am not sure how easy it would be to get hold of a copy, certainly the reference section of most libraries in Devon would hold one. If it is just one name you are looking for let me know and I will look it up for you - it is indexed.
