I found a gross transcription error in FMP's records the other day, and thought I'd share in case anyone else in the world has been searching for descendants of George Tuner and Grace Lange... or, conversely, searching for the wife/marriage of Charles Lawrie/Lawry of Plymstock. News Flash: George Tuner doesn't exist. His name is Charles Lawrie (Lawry) He married Grace Lange (Lang) 10/21/1654 in Plymstock Came across a son named Christopher, b. 1/5/1657 There are more children, just haven't had time to put them together yet. I've notified FMP, haven't heard back whether or not they'll fix it. If that name was messed up so bad, there's got to be several others from that section of the registry as well. If you're searching for ancestors in Plymstock in the 1650 - 1660 time period, it behooves you to look at the images and study that vicar's handwriting very carefully. I've seen similar handwriting in other registries of that time period as well. If you're struggling with it, I've got it mostly figured out, and would be happy to help translate (wherever it's legible, that is). Regards, Blaine Sanders
