    3. Hi Elizabeth Thanks for pointing that out. That record came up when I searched on Ancestry but in my excitement at finding him in the Prison Hulk list I missed it! Wikipedia says the curtilage of a house is the land surrounding it (with a stack of provisos). Maybe the fact that he did not enter the dwelling is why he got Life. All the other burglars listed got sentenced to Death though one had the sentence commuted to Life. Now all I need to do is find where the house and curtilage were situated.
