Afternoon, Seeing as I like to know everything, I am now fishing for George Reed SEARLE who married Elizabeth Agnes BUTLER at Exeter R/D Mar Q 1867. Some how or other he is a cousin to Arthur Ambrose SEARLE who just happened to die in Queensland in 1953 and is buried in Brisbane. A Newspaper article in the London Gazette in 1935 re [Chancery Court] the Estate of George Reed Searle...........enquiries are being made as to whether he is dead or alive and to the whereabouts of Arthur Ambrose SEARLE, his cousin. Would just love to know how they are connected. Regards Bev
Hi Bev, On just a quick look, if i have the right families then Arthur Ambrose SEARLE b abt 1876 in Plymouth the son of Milton Ambrose SEARLE b abt 1847 USA bied 1901 in Plymouth Milton Ambrose was first married in London in 1868 to Ann Elizabeth ELLIS his father is given as George Elliot SEARLE both he and his father are Jewellers. George Reed SEARLE was b abt 1844 in Kingston, Canada West died 1914 in Liverpool both Milton SEARLE and George SEARLE left Wills. But without getting copy of George Reed SEARLE's marriage certificate and/or copy of their will's cannot say how related but George SEARLE quite possibly brother to Milton Ambrose SEARLE. Will have a better look tomorrow when i have more time, but looks like a loft of America and Canada records to search to prove relationships. Tim Treeby DFHS 13926 On 20/12/2013 05:07, B. OOPS, how confusing is this. I think I have it all around the wrong way. " An enquiry whether Arthur Ambrose SEARLE who was a cousin of the above named testater, George Reed SEARLE, is living or dead, and if dead when he died, and if he died since the death of the testater, who are his personal representives etc " -------------------------------------------------- From: "B.
