Morning Not sure who was talking about the name DUDER, but I have a few in my data base, why they are there is beyond me but I do have a note written to me from Marrianne Philson nee Duder, Auckland New Zealand. Mentioned is Jane DUDER c 1855 Kingskerswell = 1878 John [Arthur] Cother WEBB in Marldon. A letter was written by Thomas SEARLL/SERELLE dated 8 Sep 1873 and he talks about He, Jane and Luscombe [Tom and Luscombe would be about 20] Tom had come to New Zealand with his parents but was wishing he was " back home ". He mentions Mary HEXT who is in bad health [I think she was born c 1841 in Ashburton and had a brother Daniel b. Dec 1842] Tom seems to have brothers and sisters. He says that Christchurch is " an awfully nasty place , no shooting except rabbits ". There are no nice young ladies hardly in Christchurch. I have hardly seen one pretty girl since I came here so a sight of your portrait will be a great treat. He send regards to Harriet who is married to Daniel HEXT. The other DUDER'S are John DUDER c 1809 and Mary .........? of Kingskerswell who have 4 children, starting with John Beavis DUDER 1844 Stoke Gabriel, who marries Elizabeth Ann SYMS 1847 Cornworthy = 1875 at Totnes R/D. Elizabeth is the d/o Parmenas SYMS and Susanna Alford PEEKE, who married 6 Jun 1843 at Plymouth Charles. The PEEKE family then go back to Jacob c 1660 and wife Catherine and link with the CAME/WAKEHAM/HEWETT and heaps of others including EDMONDS which is where my line comes in. Bev
