Hi Diana, The Archives Office of Tasmania has the conduct record for the John BISHOP transported on the Strathfieldsay, which says he was married with 4 children, wife Maria at Newton Abbott. See it here: <http://search.archives.tas.gov.au/ImageViewer/image_viewer.htm?CON31-1-4,196,161,C,80> If that link doesn't work, try here: http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?detail=1&type=C&id=5163 Then click on Conduct Record, then View this record online, and you'll find him at the bottom of the page on Image 161. Other details also available through the appropriation and description list links. You'll probably find him in other name indexes of the Tas Archives too - there's an inquest which says very little other than that he drowned.
