If anyone is interested in understanding more about the spread of DNA in the UK then I can recommend the book 'Britain, a genetic journey' by Brian Moffat, 2017 ISBN 978 1 78027 463 8. I bought a paperback of it from Abe Books and it is fairly easy reading but full of the most fascinating facts, including the fact that mouse DNA in the UK also shows evidence of man's migratory routes in that Orkney mice have Norwegian DNA whereas the mainland mice have general European as they arrived with us over the centuries. It explains the effects of all of the invasions and why DNA is different in the West from the rest of the country. Meg Galley-Taylor
