HI ,    two Gillards born 1870 one the June quarter and the other the Sept quarter .   both with Baker as mother`s name . However the 1871 Frederick with a k , John is registered in the deaths in 1872 .   One family is clearly Crediton and the other St Thomas Exeter .    I couldn`t match any of them to Samuel and Ann !!!
