I have just looked at the Family Tree on Ancestry and the marriage is between John Harrison and "Lucy Gillard" . No mention of Prothesa . I can`t access the Canadian records but there is more to be uncovered there . I think the Nicholas Gillard of the Red Lion application is certainly the right one , as he is still in the 1881 census . I am just wondering how feasible it is to believe the entire family went to Canada ???? Some parish scheme ? or are they somewhere in the 1891 ?
Thanks Elizabeth, I shall be onto this like ants crawling over a honey pot, after a cuppa first.
