So I have started this thread to benefit these Devon-L archives in case someone's related to this COBEY or COBIE family. Can you tell us how you know his person went to the States and if he went alone. Hi Pamela, I am looking for Mr Micheal Richard Cobey who went to the USA in 1865 form England, that is all I know and if he came back at a later date or married and had a family, l still do not know, I'm still in the dark. My married name is Ireland. I an a Cobie, although I was'nt born in this country, but my aunt and uncle's did and they go back years, that is the one reason why l would like to finish this,I've been trying years and years to get to the bottom of this, but so far nothing.
