    3. My suggestion was not a wild guess. Before sending it, I went through all the FreeBMD index entries for marriages in Exeter registration district in June quarter 1839. Nearly all of them match up with 4 complete marriages on a page, i.e. 4 males and 4 females. Most of the rest match up with 1, 2, or 3 complete marriages on a page. Among the very few unevenly matched entries, there are 3 males and 4 females (including Maria BERRY) on page 184, and there is a single male (William SEAWARD) on page 134, which is known to be an incorrect page number for Exeter. It is easy to read a faded or badly written 8 as a 3. I stand by my claim that 134 is very probably a typing error for 184. Note that I am not asserting that William Seaward was Maria Berry's husband, just that he is the 4th possible husband, to go with the 3 possibilities Wendy had already found when she asked her question.
