Hi Elizabeth, Yes the licence survives, I have a photocopy. There is nothing on it that gives a clue to Susanna except they are both OTP. They were married on the 25th May and 1st child baptised 17th June at Ottery St Mary. I did the usual 10 miles radius sweep at the DRO Years ago, both of Otterton and Plymtree - nothing. It is possible her parents were a John and Elizabeth, going by naming pattern, there is no sign of them either. I am not desperate to find her as I got bored with them eons ago but thought as there are new people with access to PR's!! -----Original Message----- From: devon-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:devon-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of elizabeth howard Sent: 03 February 2014 17:03 To: devon@rootsweb.com Subject: [DEV] SUSANNA HAMMETT Hi Roz, if you can`t find her - no one can !!! but does licence suggest underage to you , perhaps she was only 15/16 , hence the need to go back "home" to Ottery ? could she in fact be born c 1740-2 . does the licence survive ? life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roz Hickman" <RozMH@talktalk.net> To: <Devon-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 27, 2014 9:40 AM Subject: [DEV] SUSANNA HAMMETT > The baptism of Susanna has eluded me for 30+ years. > > > > She would have been born circa 1734. > > She married by licence in 1757 at Otterton the register states OTP, she > was > also heavily pregnant. > > Her daughter was baptised at Ottery St Mary some three weeks later.
