    3. Hi Roy, Normally I would suggest that if Father's name different on MC then he would of been illegitimate. But the only Hugh Johns that I can see on 1841/1851 Census who would be of right age and POB is a Hugh Johns son of Francis and Ann. Black Torrington given as his POB and born abt 1830.     3. Many thanks to Andy Nelson, Liz Davdson, Bev Edmonds & Tim for their responses. Andy, yes I found the marriage for HDV to Sarah Brayley/Brealy and subsequent children from their marriage. Tim, I've ruled out Hugh's parents as Francis & Ann (nee Risdon). There is a Baptism on IGI for him of 15 September 1820, Black Torrington. I believe the one I'm looking for came from Beaworthy, although there is no Baptism for him there. Bev, Yes it was a lot of names to write but, can that be a reason to make a mistake. Thanks to everyone, one day something will surface.
