This is my first post and am looking for some direction relating to the whereabouts four Ackland children born to Thomas Ackland and his wife Jane Hamlyn. The children are Thomas Ackland b 15th 1864 at Appledore, Sarah J Ackland b 1868 at Appledore, Anne Ackland b 7th January 1874 at Appledore, and lastly Emily Ackland b Nov 2nd 1875 at Appledore. I have them on the 1881 census for Appledore and Sarah J on the 1891 census for Appledore, I believe Sarah J Ackland deceased abt 1893 according to Fee BMD. I have searched all the following census's and Free BMD for the remaining children without success, checked for emigration for the entire family and individually also without success. If anybody has any suggestions regarding the searching of these children. I am game to try anything, joining various groups, purchasing fiche or literature etc. Any of these should be of assistance in locating other distant cuisin's of mine at a latter date. At present I know just the basic rudiments of family search but I feel some more refined investigating is in order. Thank you for your time. Michael Spooner.
And a burial of Thomas Ackland 25 Jun 1892 age 27. The link to the Appledore burial transcriptions can be found on Genuki Devon. Appledore is included in the Northam parish page. Always worth looking on Genuki Devon as a first step.
